ABOUT
Emma Margarita Erenst
Emma Margarita Erenst is an award winning interdisciplinary designer, illustrator, animator, and creative director. Her work moves between illustration, animation, stage design, immersive experiences, and writting — blending handcrafted, spatial, and advanced digital techniques.
Exploring the intersection of story, image, technology, and cultural heritage - Emma creates visual worlds where narratives, media, and physical space meet.
Her projects have received recognition and support from leading institutions including The Van Leer Institute and The Israel Lottery Council for Culture and Art (Mifal HaPais). Selected works include: “DADA Productions” — a prototype for an immersive VR performance developed at the Van Leer Institute and awarded by the institute (2024); “Beyond the Horizon” — an interactive site-specific theatre experience combining illustration, animation, and sound design, commissioned by The Train Theatre in Jerusalem and supported by Mifal HaPais (2022).
Emma holds an M.Des. with honors in Fashion, Textile and Accessories Design (Shenkar, 2016) and a B.Des. in Visual Communication (2010).
She lectures and leads design workshops in academia and industry, teaching at Shenkar since 2011, and has spoke at local and international conferences including, Petach Tikva Museum of Art, Interaction 23, ISRAHCI, and Outlier.
Using a variety of interdisciplinary methodologies and techniques, Emma weaves together low-tech and high-tech, stories and spaces, strategies and experiences — creating visual worlds that are both thoughtful and sensory.
